ULTRACOTE
520-110
a single component moisture-curing urethane coating for waterproofing and sealing.
Description
Due to its special chemistry no gas is evolved during curing, resulting in an absence of the surface defects and porosity often found with moisture-curing urethanes. ULTRACOTE® 520-110 has a medium to high viscosity and a thixotropic nature such that it flows well yet retains a good film thickness on vertical surfaces.
Priming
Priming is highly recommended. A general-purpose epoxy primer should be used, especially where concrete surfaces need consolidation against future deterioration.
Film Drying Time
The rate of curing is dependent on ambient temperature and relative humidity. The product may take longer to dry in conditions of very low humidity. Thin films will dry faster than thick films, and it is therefore better to apply two or more coats rather than one thick coat.
Application
ULTRACOTE® 520-110 can be applied by brush, roller, squeegee, or spray (single component airless or conventional spray equipment). Ensure fitment of working water traps to provide dry air. Thin only as mentioned below. Apply 2-3 coats at a WFT of maximum 600 microns (0.6 mm) per coat. The recommended final coating thickness is 0.5 mm for a sealer coat and 1 mm for waterproofing.
Surface Prep
Surfaces should be sound and thoroughly cleaned and degreased if necessary, before coating. All laitance and powdery material must be removed. Surfaces must be completely dry before application of ULTRACOTE® 520-110.
